Grammy and PaPa came to see me for my birthday. We had a lot of fun and really enjoyed the football game--especially since Texas Tech beat Texas! Sorry PaPa!

Grammy and PaPa's Visit

Halloween
We didn't do too much dressing up this year, but MiMi and Pops bought me a Halloween shirt! Everytime I moved it would light up! Grammy and PaPa came to see me too. Here I am displaying my shirt and eating marshmallow Ghosts (a treat from Grammy and Papa that I might have to add I loved).

More 1st Birthday pictures
When we were in Tennessee this past weekend, we decided to celebrate with our friends out there. We learned quite a bit this past weekend:
1). Jackson doesn't like to get messy....(he cried when I dug his hand in his cake).
2). He will eat cake if I feed it to him....
3). We are ready to move back "home". Jackson loved having lots of space to run and play.
Here are some pictures of his party....I told Julie and Melanie that if their husbands or son were missing, they would know where to find them...at our house playing with Jackson's toys.

My First Birthday
Mommy and Daddy went ahead and gave me my presents early so I could play with them before we went to Tennessee for the weekend. This birthday is full of "trucks." I love to push them around. I even push around the "push toy" Grammy and PaPa gave me for my birthday instead of walking with it! Maybe I will decide to take off on my own soon! I sure can hold on to things and walk!

Greetings from Tennessee
Mama Karen, Benjamin, and Kevin sent a cool card that I love opening and hearing the music. I start to dance when the card goes off...

Home Sweet Home
We have decided to move back to Tennessee after the holidays. I resigned my position here in Katy effective at semester. Although it is hard to know we are leaving Texas, we are excited about our opportunities back out there. We are spending the holidays up in the panhandle with our family and then will drive out back to Nashville. I told Jody I had two stipulations and he has agreed to them (new bedding for the master bedroom and the interior of the house painted).
By the way, it is hard to believe Jackson turns one in two weeks! I will try and get some new pictures of him up soon.

Framed up...AGAIN
I gave Jody a hard time and told him that I wasn't going to take new pictures of the house until we were at a stage we hadn't been before....Well, I think I can start adding again. Before it was torn down they hadn't added the stairs. So far everything looks great! They are saying that we should be pretty much on schedule even though we lost some days during the hurricane.

After Hurricane Ike..
Jody took an earlier flight back to Houston from Nashville last Thursday. Shortly after his return, we decided that we would evacuate, so we made the long trip to Lubbock. Traffic wasn't near as bad as it was during Hurricane Rita. The thought of not having power with a ten month old terrified us. Yesterday (Monday) we came back. Our apartment complex has minimal damage compared to lots of other places in the Houston area. Our power was restored Saturday night after the storm, so we are really lucky. A couple of streets over still does not have power. Continue to pray for people in this area as the road to recovery begins. We have had several people ask us if we regret moving back....and the answer is no. It is amazing to see everyone working together....which truly defines the "Texas Way."

10 months old
Jackson wanted to show off his two pearly whites (two bottom teeth)! Hard to believe he is ten months old. He is adjusting well out here! Loving going to his school everyday!

Hurricane Gustav
Just kidding...We had a problem with the slab so the builder decided to start over. They are busting out the foundation today as we speak. We are considering it a blessing that we found out now when they can rebuild instead of 6 months from now when all they could do was repair due to us already living in the house.
